Founded in 1989, Rock Challenge is a state-wide College and High School music competition and an iconic event on the student calendar. It is an important stepping stone into the Music Industry for young artists, showcasing local music to the wider community, recognising emerging talent and celebrating youth achievement in contemporary music.

The event consists of a series of three regional heats and a state final. High Schools and Colleges around the state set up their own internal Battle of the Bands to decide who will represent their school. Each act must perform at least one original song and submit a promotional kit (Biography and Digital Image).

Rock Challenge supports the Tasmanian Music Industry at its grassroots.
